Kamphanat Nawichai, Hua Hin Municipality Council Chairman, along with Mr. Woraphot Limakom, Hua Hin Municipality Council President, and the committee, convened a meeting to announce policies and implement security measures for the upcoming Songkran festival at the Hua Hin Municipality Hall meeting room. The meeting emphasized the integration of efforts from all sectors, including prevention, investigation, prosecution, and traffic management.
During the meeting, proactive measures were outlined to handle the Songkran festival period from April 10-16, 2026. Key directives included enhanced suppression efforts, with a focus on intensifying drug suppression to improve the city’s current ranking of 14th, as well as closely monitoring and controlling property theft in foreigner residences.
The council also addressed traffic discipline and social issues, vowing to strictly enforce the Traffic Act against loud motorcycles, illegal street racing, and parking violations in high-risk areas such as Khao Yai Chicken Farm and Khao Yai Restaurant.
For the Songkran festivities, the council plans to establish strong checkpoints at V43 throughout the area to intercept firearms, drugs, and criminal groups often involved in drinking activities. Additionally, they will enhance security for gold shops and convenience stores 24/7.
To boost morale and encourage excellent performance, the council will award certificates and cash prizes to 5 outstanding police officers.
The meeting will conclude with a water pouring ceremony and Songkran blessings to bring good fortune and strengthen cooperation among Hua Hin police for their upcoming duties.
This meeting demonstrates Hua Hin Municipality Council’s readiness to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and tourists throughout the 2026 Songkran festival.
